On Monday, September 22nd we celebrated the life of an extraordinary woman, Kitty Carlisle Hart, and honored The Glaucoma Foundation. Less than two months ago we sent out invitations and the response has been overwhelming. We will soon be sold out. So if you or a friend are planning on attending do not wait. Call: 646-366-9340 or you can send in your RSVP in the SASE that we have enclosed for your convenience. If you have responded already please call to confirm. We hope to see you at this exciting event which will be held at the Harvard Club (35 West 44th Street, between 5th and 6th avenues). You’ll watch performances, listen to songs, view video clips with scenes from Kitty’s movie and TV career, and will enjoy the best that she had to offer.

Kitty was and enthusiastic supporter of a company I started eight years ago called Food For Thought/Lunch Hour Theatre. The theatre is devoted to the one-act play. The crème de la crème of the theatre community have walked through our doors twice a week to perform. Kitty was one of those people, along w ith Marian Seldes, Christine Ebersole, Mercedes Ruehl, Lauren Bacall, Elaine Stritch, Tommy Tune, Lynn Redgrave, Anne Jackson and Eli Wallach. On April 4, 2006 we named a writing fellowship in Kitty’s honor.  She was thrilled

More recently we have started a new sister company called Cause Célèbre whose goal is to connect theatre with causes. Once a year we hold a Gala/Tribute in which we honor a person of extraordinary achievement in the arts. Who better deserves this honor than Kitty Carlisle Hart? Kitty’s longtime and passionate support of The Glaucoma Foundation made it the obvious choice as beneficiary.

We look forward to sharing this special event with you as we remember the charm, the vitality and the life of a woman who never seemed to sleep in a city that perfectly suited her temperament.

Sincerely,

Susan Charlotte,
